Shining Light Players and the use of AI

We make mistakes.
You may notice them. We're human.
I won't say "only human" because human is a very special thing to be. As human beings we are uniquely created by God, and, unlike a computer, we have the ability to worship.
At Shining Light Players we believe that the creative process (not just the product) is an act of worship.
While the use of AI is becoming very common, using AI skips the creative process to get an immediate product. Artists lose the opportunity to grow, and ministries lose the opportunity to collaborate and worship together. AI threatens us with isolation. "I don't need to find someone to help me- my computer can do that."
With this in mind, here are some ways that SLP may use AI:
-As a search engine like Google, to research, and find real images, human created artwork, quotes and factual information.
-Like any tool in the hand of an artist; a paint brush, a pair of scissors, glue, through apps like Canva, but never as the MIND or IMAGINATION of the artist.
Here are ways that SLP will not use AI:
-To write dialogue, lyrics, music or advertising copy.
-To edit or suggest edits to any of our plays, music, lyrics or advertising. We will not ask for an artificial opinion of our art.
-To generate designs for productions or for our advertising.
You may notice mistakes in our scripts, recordings with simple piano accompaniment, and various imperfections in these posts or the art we produce. Feel free to message me when you find these. I consider these imperfections the mark of real intelligence and genuine worship through art.
